So after Class of Heroes, I'm now trying to get Elminage Original onto my phone (or PC for that matter) to make that my next mobile DRPG fix.

I loved Gothic on the PC and Class of Heroes 2 just isn't grabbing me really, despite spending ages fiddling with PPSSPP settings to get i running nicely. The problem is, patching it. I've got hold of 2 iso's for Elminage and, despite one of them being 'fully patched and fixed', it isn't. The terrible engrish is still there and the races are still all mixed up in the character generation. I've found an update folder in the iso file structure and some quick googling suggests that PPSSPP doesn't enable you to update some patches. So is it possible to either a) get hold of an already patched iso, or b) find some tool that could patch it with the update and repack the iso? I downloaded isotool, but as it says on Nicoblog, you need an actual PPSSPP to patch that way.I know I shouldn't really be bothered about the race names being wrong and the awful engrish, but it's triggering me massively!

Finding how to get hold of a patch or patched version has become more important than actually playing the game!I was considering purchasing through the Playstation store to get an up to date version, but I'm not sure that it'll either download as an iso and play on PPSSPP, or just be the same anyway with the patch needing a PSP to update. Never actually bought anything from the PS store and the documentation seems to suggest you need to link your account with an actual Sony device before it'll download. I can't see them accepting PPSSPP as a device somehow! Cheers Courtier. The ironic thing is, I have actually got a PSP!

Original Psp Faceplate

One of the old ones, that's sat in my cupboard for about the last 6 years. It's just nowhere near as convenient for grinding-on-the-go as my mobile. I've been seriously thinking about getting a Vita, but I could see that suffering the same fate, despite all the good crawlers on it. If I'm at home, I'm on the PC and if I'm not and I've got a quick 20-30 mins spare, I'll pull out my phone.I'm thinking I'll have to put up with Dwarves being Gnomes, Fairies being Dwarves and Hotlets being Fairies etc etc.

From what I gather, unpatched is totally playable, just poorly translated. It is perfectly playable, I completed the game twice that way. But you can still throw cfw on your psp and use it for patching this, or run homebrew and games that don't run smoothly with ppsspp. I've got a snes emulator on mine, it's pretty neat.

The Vita is getting a ton of crawlers and has a growing library of great games, I highly recommend it. One of my favorite things about it is that a Vita can be left in standby mode (tap power button) for days or even weeks mid-game and not run out of battery. Also you might be interested to know that 7th Dragon 2020 (psp dragon quest-like RPG) recently got a psp translation. Its predecessor was a great DS title translated by the same guy.Speaking of the DS, you've got a bunch of blobbers you can emulate from that as well.

Strange Journey, The Dark Spire and EOI-III are fantastic. Yeah, I've played all of those! I enjoyed them up to a point, but I lost Dark Spire progress when DraStic updated and the map went blank, Etrian Odyssey I never really enjoyed the character system and that damn sea map in 3 drove me mad! I wanted to explore dungeons, not play some damn puzzle game!

Strange Journey I enjoyed at first, but just lost interest at some gold dungeon and went to play something else.I suspect there'd be fireworks at home if I brought a Vita back! I've already got phone, tablet, laptop and tower PC that suck up most of my time, the missus would flip out totally. Unless I could persuade her it was my old PSP I decided to dig out again.

I've been trying for the last few days to find a working jap torrent of the PC release of elminage original. I want to see what the situation is with the game's files and if they are compressed or archived or both or whatever the fuck because. The game is already in english. And the majority of said game english is in standard.CSV files.it would be 100% possible to replace the japanese.CSV files in the PC version of Original with the english language.CSV files from the PSP version. I already have a quickbms script and i have everything extracted, so it depends on what the situation is with the pc version.elminage gothic is almost completely open and they used a standard archiving format.BRA without anything added so it is easy to extract everything from Gothic.in fact, assuming this is at all possible (i.e.

Original

The pc version is hackable) the biggest challenge in this copy/paste translation would be the stuff like battle commands, city options, etc, all of those textures with words on them. One could replace them with the english ones from the PSP version but. They'd look like fucking dog shit since the PC port of original is high rez.did they add any new stuff for the PC port? I'm going to be totally honest aweigh, I understood about a half of that post lol.Are you on about doing a copy/paste of the translation of the Jap PC version? Holy shit, don't worry about that dude!

I've been dipping into it on PPSSPP on and off and once you get past the terrible character generation mistakes and the silly 'friend is call' stuff, the translation isn't that bad. All the little events in the dungeons seems pretty well translated and if Courtier says he completed it unpatched twice, that's good enough for me!I'm really not going to be playing this on PC, I've got Wiz Empire 2 now and Elminage Gothic for that.

Elminage Original is to replace Class of Heroes 2 for crawling on the go. I was just thinking that they'd have released another ISO for the patched version of Elminage, not packed a patch up with the original that only an actual PSP could apply. I've got 2 ISO's for CoH2, one fixed and one bugged, thought Elminage would be the same, but no biggie if not. YEAH personally i don't think it matters one bit if someone plays an elminage game on a psp or on pc. All 5 (well, 4. Nobody likes the fith one) games in the series pretty much some of the best dungeon crawling in years and years.when i wrote that i was kinda bored.

Although if they HAD actually added a new dungeon i would be all over that shit.btw, i don't really understand fully your situation with the psp elminage original patches. The ISO i played had 1 patch already on it, the one and only patch ghostlight released to fix the majority of the spelling/typos, and i never had a problem with it. I played it on emulator though, not on real hardware.for example the infamous 'call is friend' was not present in the iso. For reference it was/is the european release iso.

Which i think actually is the ONLY english release of psp elminage original, right? It never got a US release, only EUR.

That's a bit weird then. I've got 2 images DL'd from 2 different places and both of them have the typos at chargen with the race names and 'friend is call'. One is a CSV file, but the other is an iso and when I go into it with Poweriso I see a folder called 'Update' in the SYSDIR folder that I assume is, well, an update! But it seems that PPSSPP has no way to apply this update, it just reads the original information. The updates done this way need an actual PSP to work from what I gather. If you've got an already patched iso, that is pretty much exactly what I was looking for originally!

Elminage Original Review

Click to expand. This reminds me that I just purchased it for €20 to replay on the Vita and I'm mad as fuck. It's bad enough that on the Vita the game is straight upscaled and blurry enough to hurt just looking at it, and that ghostlight stamped their giant logo on it in-game and in the PS store (small footnote in store says starfishSD); but within the first seconds I see shit like the button 'appraise' in the menu being renamed identification, but misspelled 'idenfitication' in both the shop and dungeon menus.something that wasn't in the original bad TL or the updated patch released later. How could they possibly manage to introduce new errors when the TL was already done and the engrish fixed before they even got their mitts on it? How could they possibly manage to introduce new errors when the TL was already done and the engrish fixed before they even got their mitts on it? Yeah the 'idenfitication' made me laugh and die a little inside at the same time.I've not played an awful lot yet, just rolled up a load of chars and explored some of the first floor, but they may well have made some balancing changes as well. Abi in the US version I played was an absolute pushover and died in 1 round, 2 at the most, with lvl 3 and 4 chars. This one is a lot tougher and harder to hit. It's an improvement tbh.I'm not hopeful for this, but did anyone play this on PPSSPP android and find a setting that stops the map from flickering when it gets pretty complete? I've had a play with the rendering settings but doesn't look like anything I've tried stops it.
